Reporting to the Director Program Management (Readiness), the Project Data Officer, Readiness will support projects’ information management by ensuring proper management of data and support project implementation with data-related tasks, including cleaning, analysis, reporting and automating recurring tasks. The Project Data Officer will support monitoring and evaluation of readiness projects. Through effective information management, the Project Data Officer will enhance analysis and decision making in projects and support an improved and effective reporting.


The Project Data Officer, Readiness will work closely with People Services, Logistics, Finance, Business Support Services and Operations teams, with administrative support to these programs.

As a Project Data Officer, you will:

Support Senior Project Manager to provide innovative data solutions

  • Improve data quality by automating data checking and cleaning processes in Readiness
  • Automate recurrent data analysis processes to reduce the amount of time between data collection and the creation of information products
  • Design collection tools and technical processes to improve the use of and engagement with data within the CRC and main partners
  • Support the development of innovative frameworks for data analysis, trends and forecasting (project related and non-project related)
  • Support other team members in the reporting requirement by providing an easy access to infographic, tables, charts
  • Proactively reach out to internal stakeholders (service line owners, geographies and enabling services) to update financials, implementation status on activities and objectives

Support to other Readiness Projects

  • Proactively reach out to internal stakeholders (service line owners, geographies and enabling services) to update financials, implementation status on activities and objectives
  • Maintain information management and automate tracking for projects related to readiness, in particular: risks registers, project’s quality assurance, decisions and learnings
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for the necessary data/evidence and verify processes used to obtain the data
  • Produce clear, readable, evidence-based information that will support the reporting to donors


Administrative Support and Teamwork

  • Support the Senior Project Manager in organizing and structuring projects’ dossiers
  • Create user-friendly resources for staff to access, use and make analysis from data
  • Develop and contribute to communications materials on CRC’s Readiness work, including on the CRC’s website
  • Provide support as required to Program Management departmental activities
  • Support the work of Program Management Readiness by participating in the planning and development activities of unit


We’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science, computer engineering, information management systems, statistics, etc.)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and high computer literacy
  • Strong skills in Smartsheet and Power BI
  • Experience with managing and extracting data from AX / Dynamics
  • Advanced experience analysing complex data
  • Experience with interpreting project data (earned values, actuals, burn rate, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in this area, preferably for governmental or non-governmental organization
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify outliers and key trends, and to situate findings in a winder context
  • Knowledge of geographic information systems (QGIS, ArcGIS), statistical programming languages and visual software an asset
  • Demonstrated working experience in matrix environment
  • Good infographics and flow charts skills
  • Knowledge of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and knowledge of the Canadian Red Cross Society’s international and domestic operations is a definite asset
