Job Title: Interactive Canada/Reconciliation Map Researcher
Are you between the ages of 18-30 looking for a new and challenging opportunity to contribute to the community? We have an 8-week position available to begin as soon as possible.
RTS is an Indigenous led non-profit organization situated in the heart of Winnipeg’s North End Community. Together with a valued team of experienced trainers and passionate host contacts, we deliver experiential reconciliation workshops.
Focus of work: Gathering RTS historical photos, stories, and evaluations into an archival folder that will be utilized as an interactive map of Canada on our website. The work will merge the historical timeline of RTS with the history of Indian Residential School in Canada (IRS). The researcher position work will organize this archival information into chronological order with milestones corresponding with RTS workshops, quotes, etc.
Additional tasks: scanning archival photos, gathering information from the RTS community, and researching IRS locations.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:
· Detail Oriented
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent spelling and grammatical skills
· Reliable and Dependable
· Ability to collect and analyze data
· Highly motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Excellent time management skills
Duration: 8 weeks
Closing Date: June 15th 2020
Rate of Pay: $12.00 per hour
Hours of work: 9am-5pm
