Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in geomatics or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Valid First Aid Training at time of hire
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Data Technician
- Complete all training to company standards with detail and accuracy
- Maintain knowledge base and expand Geographic Information Systems (GIS) capabilities
- Create and edit GIS products in multiple formats and mapping conventions.
- Aerial data collection (rotary, fixed wing and UAV)
- Product management from acquisition to deliverable
- Assist with project bidding and estimating
- Build and manage GIS databases and imagery data sets
- Manage vendors for all GIS software and equipment
- Present/demonstrate products and services to clients
- Consult with clients on their GIS specifications
- Participate in team and independent based work
- Customer service skills – in person, phone and via email
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Special Projects and other duties as assigned
Aerial Sensor Operator
- Survey/Thermal Camera Operator
- Develop and maintain knowledge and proficiency on all cameras and systems
- Generate and manage flight plans for aerial survey operations
- Manage all data collection and quality control
- GIS Mapping – using programs such as Map Source, DNR Garmin and QGIS
- GPS theoretical and practical knowledge
- Field work or outdoor skills, extended periods away from base
- Scheduled and on-call availability from Apr – Sept
Working Conditions / Environment
- Deployment, domestic and international
- Regularly deployed to remote locations
Physical and Mental Demands
- Irregular work hours during periods of field deployment
- Field deployments of up to 30 consecutive days
- Extended periods of flight operations
