Winnipeg Data Science Meet-Up
November 12, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Featured Speaker: Mark Struck, Vice President, Data Management & Analytics, Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company
Presentation: Data Science teams are often tasked with uncovering hidden patterns from vast amounts of data. Finding the next big insight frequently feels like the end goal, and to many teams it is. Understand the problem, investigate the data, design the analytical process, and find the hidden truths – done, right?
If this is where you think your work ends, then you’re likely missing a series of ethical considerations that, if not handled, could serve to undermine everything you’ve found.
This presentation will highlight the many considerations that need to be accounted for within an ethical framework in order to ensure that your work isn’t just about the analysis, but also about the greater needs of all stakeholders.
