The position will be based in Winnipeg, Canada from May 1stto August 31st, 2020
•Coordinating engagement sessions, including handling logistics, note-taking, and other tasks, as required.
•Supporting community sessions, interviews, workshops, and community events.
•Assisting with writing project descriptions, environmental baselines, and environmental monitoring programs.
•Conducting qualitative research, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
•Assisting with social media monitoring, advertising and documentation for key projects.
•Assisting with document management, photo-logging, and other administrative support for various projects.
•Assisting with stakeholder correspondence logging, analytics, and reporting.
•Conducting research on various environmental and land use planning topics, including legislation and policy.
•Assisting in the design and implementation of plans, strategies, and capacity-building in the area of land use planning.
•Demonstrated academic and/or practical experience interpreting and analyzing policy in the area of environmental assessment or land use planning.
•Current student in an Environmental Sciences, Studies, City Planning, or related program.
•Hold a valid drivers’ license.
•Know how to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.•Ability to write well; including technical reports, articles, blogs, essays, memorandums, letters, and briefing notes.
•Adaptable, versatile, willing to learn and explore.
•Comfortable with public speaking.
•Ability to conduct research and prepare short summaries of findings.
•Basic GIS and visual design (InDesign, Illustrator) competencies are considered an asset.
•Flexible work hours, including option to work remotely when possible.
•Downtown Winnipeg office; close to bus routes for easy commuting.
•Monthly bus pass for the duration of the placement included.
•Travel may be required (sometimes 3 days a week few weeks in a row).
