Most annoying fact about the GIS
Having to explain to people what GIS is can get exhausting. There really isn't a one-liner that sums it up. In Toronto the general public seem to know what GIS is. Hopefully Manitobans get to that point soon!

Depends on the educational

Depends on the educational orientation of the audience. If not technical, I generally just say "Basically a database with a location based aspect or dimension to it"

If they look confused, then the challenge of explaining begins really.
